How Heavenly Hearts Works

In a Heavenly Hearts prayer partnership two Christian women commit to meet one hour weekly to share
  • Two praises
  • Two prayer requests
  • Two areas for which they want to be accountable
After each woman shares her prepared written list for 15 minutes, they culminate their time by praying over all that was shared.

Steps to establishing a prayer partnership:
  • Ask the Lord to bring a woman's name to mind.
  • Give her a Heavenly Hearts brochure.
  • Ask her to pray about being your partner.
  • Have a first meeting time, being sure to adhere to the one-hour time frame.
May the Lord bless you as you partner in prayer with another Christian woman.

An Unexpected Ministry

“How can I connect with another Christian woman after having made this geographical move to Hawaii with the military?” In 1991, this was the desire of my heart, and I chose to act on it. After much prayer, I felt led to create the format for the relationship and asked a friend to be my prayer partner. Once other ladies began to hear about how we were being so blessed by meeting weekly for the purpose of sharing and praying together, others wanted to participate.

I never thought that this would become an 'official' ministry. Now, 30 years later, many ladies still choose to enter in to this one-on-one Heavenly Hearts prayer partner relationship and find it to be a real blessing in their lives. (see testimonials)

Marsha Kallander

Marsha has been married 42 years to her college sweetheart and best friend, Kirk. She is a retired substitute teacher and wife of a retired Navy dentist. The couple now live in Washington State. They have two adult daughters and three granddaughters.

The military couple has moved numerous times, which has led to Marsha’s having ten different Heavenly Hearts Prayer Partners over the years, each one having been such a blessing. The time invested in sharing, praying, and being accountable to a prayer partner leads to sweet Christian fellowship and also a closer relationship with Christ. Marsha shares, “My greatest desire is that many women will choose to enter into a prayer partnership which leads to friendship, fellowship, and spiritual growth.”

In addition to appreciating a prayer partner relationship, Marsha’s heart for women, and her ongoing prayer to assist in others spiritual growth has led her to teach Bibles studies, lead worship for women’s Bibles studies, and have numerous one-on-one discipleship meetings over that past couple of decades.
She has spoken at a number of ladies events and taught numerous Bible studies over the last 25 years. In her free time, Marsha can be found visiting family members or on the court playing competitive racquetball.
